Daily backups — what is included as standard?

We create a daily backup of every Managed VPS — automatically, without any additional setup or subscription. Backups are retained for 7 days on a separate server in an external data centre. Restorable via our client portal.

Through our client portal you can easily view, restore or download backups — a single file, a database or your entire server.

Want more control? Installatron creates targeted application backups at the moment of updates or changes. JetBackup enables you and your users to restore backups independently down to file level, directly from the control panel on your server.

What can you do with your backups?

Below you can read which backup features are available as standard with your Managed VPS and how to use them.

Daily backup

Every night our system automatically creates a full backup of your server — all data, files and databases included. Nothing to configure or keep track of — it runs fully automatically.

Stored off-site

Backups are stored on a separate server in a different data centre. Should something go wrong with your primary server, your data remains safe and a recent restore point is always available.

Selective restore

Something gone wrong? Via the client portal you select exactly what to restore — a single file, a specific database or a complete account — without touching the rest of your server.

Download a backup

Prefer to review the backup locally or restore it manually in your own environment? We prepare a packaged backup for you so you can download it directly whenever it suits you.

Increase frequency

By default we create one backup per day. Need shorter restore points? With Manage Plus or Pro you increase the frequency to 2 or 4 times per day — or get in touch if you need a custom solution.

Manage backups yourself

Alongside our automatic backups you can also create manual backups via DirectAdmin. Extend this with Installatron or JetBackup and you get a full restore interface directly in your control panel.

With Installatron and JetBackup you can extend the backup functionality of your Managed VPS further. We take care of the installation and configuration, so everything works correctly with your environment.

With Installatron you easily manage web applications and create automatic backups per installation. Ideal for WordPress and other CMS systems where you want to quickly revert to an earlier working version.

JetBackup offers extensive backup options with recovery at account, file and database level. Suitable for environments where extra control and multiple restore points are required within your VPS.

These extensions are available for our Managed VPS packages. We handle installation and configuration, and ensure everything works correctly together with your environment.

Yes. We automatically create a daily backup of your entire server — including all websites, databases, email accounts and configuration files. No setup required on your part.

Through our client portal you can go back to any of the 7 available restore points. You choose exactly what to restore:

  • A single file or folder
  • A complete database
  • A full hosting account
  • Your entire server

You can download the backup yourself, or we can restore it for you.

By default we create 1 backup per day. With a higher server management package you can increase the frequency:

  • Manage Plus — 2x per day (14 restore points)
  • Manage Pro — 4x per day (28 restore points)

A higher frequency or longer retention outside these packages is possible on request. Get in touch with us for the options.

Yes. With Installatron you can create a manual backup of a CMS installation at any time — useful before an update, plugin installation or other change.

Installatron is optionally available for your Managed VPS and is installed and configured by us.

JetBackup is an optional backup system that replaces our own backup system. It adds an advanced restore interface to the control panel of your server, allowing you and your users to restore backups independently down to file level.

The difference from our standard system: JetBackup gives users direct restore access within their own control panel, without going through our client portal. Get in touch with us for more information.

No. Backups are always included with every Managed VPS package — without any additional subscription or setup. Want a higher backup frequency or extra backup functionality? You can upgrade to Manage Plus or Manage Pro, or add optional software such as JetBackup.
